Eye Department

The eye is made up of three coats, which enclose the optically clear aqueous humour, lens, and vitreous body. The outermost coat consists of the cornea and the sclera; the middle coat contains the main blood supply to the eye and consists, from the back forward, of the choroid, the ciliary body, and the iris. Ophthalmology is the specialized field of medicine that focuses on the health of the eye. It includes the anatomy, physiology and diseases that may affect the eye. Historically, the science of ophthalmology encompassed all aspects of visual function, both in health and in illness. An eye doctor skilled in eye and vision care is called an ophthalmologist. In terms of training and what they can assess and treat, ophthalmologists differ from optometrists and opticians.

It helps us in visualizing objects and also helps us in light perception, colour and depth perception. Besides, these sense organs are pretty much similar to cameras, and they help us see objects when light coming from outside enters them.
